Sara Glancy plays the role of The Young Wife in the Tisch CAP21 third year musical production of Michael John LaChiusa’s Hello Again, a musical based on the 1897 play La Ronde by Arthur Schnitzler, which focuses on a series of love affairs among ten characters during the ten different decades of the 20th century.

Tocca in Sweet Charity at CAP21

Alexandrea Tocca will perform in a production of Sweet Charity March 25, 26 & 27 at 8 pm, and March 29 – April 2 at 8 pm.

Directed by Kenneth Noel Mitchell, with Music Supervision by Michael McElroy and Choreography by Barry McNabb, Sweet Charity is a musical workshop presented by the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Department of Drama featuring the students currently studying at CAP21. The performances will be held at 113 Second Avenue, Theatre 104.

Lighthouse Students Perform at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

My students from The Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music School at Lighthouse International will be performing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York City.

This 15th Annual Lighthouse at the Met Concert will be titled “Musical Postcards from the Met: Travels through the Permanent Collection”. Music, art, and performers of all ages are featured in a program that transports the audience to all corners and cultures of the globe.

Courtney White recently sang Woman One in the quartet song cycle Edges by Ben Pasek and Justine Paul, and Kimberly Wilpon recently sang the Green Girl in Shout by Phillip George and Peter Morris. Both shows were presented in the Theresa Lang Theater at Marymount College at 221 East 71st Street in Manhattan on Saturday, January 29, 2011.

Torres in Bee; Song Cycle Presented

Robert Torres played “Chip” in a production of the musical Spelling Bee for the month of January 2011 with the INN ONE THEATRICS in Rutland, Vermont. In addition, his song cycle entitled “Pipedream” was mounted at Merchants Hall in Rutland, Vermont during a week in January.

Lighthouse Music School Benefit

On Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., Lighthouse Music School students, Yeong Nam Chun (Mezzo Soprano), Lynnette Tatum (Soprano), Maria Rios (Soprano) and Frank Senior (Baritone) performed in a recital to benefit the Lighthouse Music School. Repertoire included Italian and German Art Songs, Spirituals, Korean Songs, Jazz Songs and world premiere songs by Ms. Tatum. The concert was performed at the Korea Village Opencenter at 150-24 Northern Boulevard in Flushing, New York.

I attended a seminar in Rochester on “Singing and the Brain”.

Columbia University Master Class

I taught a Master Class at Columbia University through the New York Singing Association’s Master Teacher of Pedagogy Program. My theme was “Teaching Singing to People with Vision Loss.” This course was video taped via Webinar through the NYSTA web site and can be taken for credit through Westminster Choir College.
